Mabon: A Witch's Thanksgiving

Let’s talk Mabon! 🍂🖤✨

The term “Mabon” is named after a Celtic sun god of the same name. Mabon or Fall/Autumn Equinox is also called The Second Harvest Festival, this Sabbat is celebrated between September 21-23rd.

During Mabon both day and night are of equal balance, meaning it’s light for the same amount of time that it is dark. Making it the perfect time for spells dealing with balance, house blessings, releasing negativity, prosperity, protection, cleansing your chakras, and concentration.

Some simple ways to celebrate this Sabbat are:
-set up your Mabon altar/sacred space with things that correspond to the fall.
-go for a walk and spend some time with the earth, giving thanks to nature and all that it has blessed you with this year and the years to come.
-Do a card reading on what message the divine would like you to receive.
-Tidy up your home
- Make a gratitude list
-Donate to a charity or to someone less fortunate in your life.
-Meditate on what you need to let go of
-Celebrate with a feast for yourself, family, and friends

I personally refer to Mabon as the “Wiccan/Witches Thanksgiving” that may help with some ideas on what to base the Sabbat around.

Blessed Be Witches, I appreciate you all!
